The Future of Home Energy

A few weeks ago, revolutionary electric car company, Tesla, announced the debut of a new line of high efficient storage batteries that can be used to power businesses and personal residences. This started a national conversation about the future of home energy, and has resulted in more than 38,000 powerwall units ordered in its first week. According to Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, these $3,000 batteries have been sold out until mid 2016. The shift towards a greener and a more energy efficient home does not seem to be merely a trend and will force other companies to follow suit. With the popularity of the Nest Thermostat, and rumors of Apple getting into the smart home business, our homes will only become smarter, use less energy, and save home owners money in the process.
